Burglary Crime Prevention Tips - September 2026

Good morning, Kenton East Residents,

Over the past month, there has been 2 attempted and 3 residential burglaries reported that took place on STREATFIELD ROAD, HINKLER RD, SHOOTERS AVENUE, HUNTERS GROVE and KENTON PARK AVENUE.

The suspects are described as appearing to be IC1 males, all wearing face coverings and gloves. It is believed suspects use of a suspected cloned vehicle.

Further investigations are ongoing.

Burglary Crime Prevention Tips:

Close and lock all your doors and windows, even if you are only going out for a few minutes

Do not leave your Chubbsafe or car keys or identification documents near doors, letterboxes or windows

Keep your valuables out of sight - Do not keep large quantities of cash at home

Leave some lights on if it is dark before you get home, consider timer switches

Install a visible burglar alarm - Install CCTV or consider inexpensive dummy CCTV cameras

Always keep sheds and outbuildings locked

Consider diamond style trellis for your back garden fences to prevent easy climbing

Always check who is at the door, use a security chain if you have one and ask to see some I.D.

Wheelie bins should be stored behind secure side gates until collection day, to prevent them being used as climbing aids.
